Takedown requests
This page describes how to submit, and how we handle, a request to remove or amend content on The Legation Times.
Who may submit
The rights holder in the material cited, the body or organisation that owns the original document, or an individual whose personal data appears in the content.
What the request must contain
- The exact link to the content you want removed or amended.
- The basis of the request: copyright, usage rights, personal data, or factual inaccuracy.
- Documents establishing the standing of the sender and the legal basis relied on.
- Contact details for our reply.
Send to [email protected] with [Takedown] at the start of the subject line.
How we handle it
- Acknowledge receipt.
- Review the content named against the original document and the basis relied on.
- Outcome: remove the content, amend the relevant part, add a note, or set out why it stands.
- Notify the sender of the outcome.
While a request is being handled
Where a request is clearly founded and concerns personal data or content rights, the passage in question may be hidden until the review is complete.
